NOV-21-12  At a time when the prevalence of HIV among some Americans rivals parts of sub-Saharan Africa and recorded deaths from chronic hepatitis C infection are steadily increasing, the Forum for Collaborative HIV Research will convene its 2012 National Summit on HIV and Viral Hepatitis Diagnosis, Prevention and Access to Care to intensify the nation's prevention, detection and treatment efforts.

AUG-15-12  As global leaders assembled in Washington for the XIX International AIDS Conference, a special gathering of researchers, government officials and HIV/AIDS advocates confronted the new reality of the epidemic in the U.S. – a dramatic increase in HIV among men who have sex with men (MSM), minority populations, the poor and the disenfranchised living in discreet geographic regions, especially in urban areas of the Northeast and West Coast and cities and small towns in the South.

JUN-28-12  NVHR, in collaboration with the Senate HELP and Aging Committees, are presenting a briefing, "The Silent Epidemic: Hepatitis C & the Baby Boomer Population."  The briefing will take place on June 28, 2012 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm in 188 Russell. 

MAY-31-12  Yesterday, members of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) advanced one of the important action items detailed in the Action Plan for the Prevention, Care and Treatment of Viral Hepatitis.  Read more.

MAY-31-12  Meeting in San Francisco at a conference convened by the Forum for Collaborative HIV Research, HIV experts and advocates mapped a pathway to reduce disparities in HIV/AIDS, applying the lessons learned from the Bay Area where disparities exist across the spectrum of care.
